If you do ever find it negatively impacts the frame rate try adaptive V-Sync (again in NVIDIA control panel) which only turns it on when you're hitting over 60fps. Some also find it causes noticeable mouse lag for certain games, like shooters. which can negatively impact the frame rate. This is fine when you're hitting well over 60fps anyway, but if you're getting lower than that it starts limiting it to fractions of the number, so 10, 15, 20 etc. V-Sync forces the graphics card to only deliver a maximum of 60 frames per second to eliminate tearing. If you enable V-Sync in the game option menus (or force it in NVIDIA control panel if the game doesn't have the option) it should stop happening, if it doesn't then we'll know it's something else.Īs I say it's incredibly common, whenever the frame rate is out of sync with the screen's refresh rate (say a 60hz monitor) and the graphics card delivers more (or less) frames per second than the monitor can process (in this case 60fps) you get screen tearing. I'm new to AMD cards, but believe I have the latest non-Beta driver installed. I was getting between 70 and 120fps, but the screen flickering began after only about 10 mins or so and continued for a couple of minutes once I'd quit War Thunder and was just looking at my desktop. I initially noticed the problem when playing War Thunder at the ultimate settings. However, after about an hour of playing Skyrim, I begin to notice that the picture is flickering ever so slightly, but enough to be noticeable on straight lines.ĨGB Kingston Hyper-X Genesis RAM 1600MHz, The framerate performance is great and a massive step up from my old card.
